Second Book Award for "Draining Chicago" in Regional Nonfiction

Congratulations to Draining Chicago author Dick Lanyon for picking up a second book award for the second in his four-book series on the intersection of Chicago's public works and its waterways. The National Indie Excellence Awards just gave Lanyon and Draining Chicago its top prize in the Regional Nonfiction-Midwest category.

Earlier in the month, we announced that Draining Chicago had been named a finalist in the Regional Nonfiction category of the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Fellow Lake Claremont Press: A Chicago Joint author Larry Broutman also received two book prizes this year--for his coffee table book featuring his photography of Chicago's public monuments. Chicago Monumental was honored as a finalist in the Best Interior Design category of the Midwest Book Awards and with a bronze in the Great Lakes Nonfiction category in the IPPY Awards sponsored by Independent Publisher.
