Looking southwest at the Milwaukee Division steel plate girder railroad bridge, April 24, 1911. The plate girder span has been completed as have the approach embankment and tracks. Notice the West Railroad Avenue Bridge in the opening under the railroad bridge. Water has been in the channel for five months; the left foreground shows evidence of side slope failure.
